The conference venue is located at the Parkville Campus of the University of Melbourne, which is close to the Melbourne CBD. Typically, travellers arrive in the CBD first and then take a tram for the remaining journey to the University. Also, they simply reverse the route back to the airport from the campus.
We have three options to travel from Melbourne Airport to the CBD:
The SkyBus City Express is a public transport service running between Melbourne Airport and Southern Cross Station in the CBD. The SkyBus station is located immediately outside Terminal 2 at the airport. Services depart every 15 minutes from 4:00 AM to 1:00 AM daily.
SkyBus WebsiteTake Bus Route 901 from the airport (near Terminal 4) to Broadmeadows Station, then transfer to a train to the city, arriving at Southern Cross Station in the CBD.
Melbourne CBD has a Free Tram Zone where tram travel within the zone is free of charge. However, the University of Melbourne is outside the Free Tram Zone, though it is within a 15–20 minute walking distance from the boundary. Travellers can get off the tram at the boundary of the Free Tram Zone—either at Stop 7: Queen Victoria Market on Elizabeth Street, or Stop 8: Melbourne Central Station on Swanston Street—and walk to the University from there.
